How to Create a Free Financial Wellness Week For Your Employees

Understanding our personal  finances ---  how to budget, save, pay off, spend, and invest wisely -- is essential for everyone, including your employees. Financial wellness is a growing concern of employees and the Culture and HR managers that we speak to on a daily basis. Beyond our one-on-one coaching and accountability programming, The Gym has numerous free resources from blog posts to webinars to a web0-series and podcasts -- available to create an engaging and educational financial wellness week for your employees.

Below is an example of how you can create a varied financial wellness week for your employees on a budget!

Day 1

Have employees watch our webinar Are You Financially Fit? This is a wonderful foundational webinar where employees will learn about the six numbers they need to know to be financially fit including the amount of investments they should have, why a credit score is important and what percent yoru debt to income ratio should be (and what it is!)

Day 2

Watch the episode “Medical Math” from our web series, Financially Naked. Have employees meet in a group to discuss themes and topics the episode brings up including: intersectionality and how it shapes your financial opportunities; medical debt; the Black tax, and finances and race.

Day 3

Employees can tune into our free weekly Wine and Learn webinars at 6pm ET. Topics vary from Investing 101 to “Aligning Your Money with Your Values” to “The Cost of a Pet.” These are interactive and allow plenty of time for Q&A.

Bonus Tip: Have employees create a Money Cocktail or mocktail that they’ll be drinking during the session.  Most creative cocktail name wins!

Day 4

Share the Financially Free blog in your Slack channel as a resource for employees. Ask employees to share a blog that they found interesting in Slack.

Day 5

Suggest employees listen to the financial anxiety episode or a financially naked episode of Martinis and Your Money. Leave some open ended questions in Slack to spark a  discussion.
