Corporate Financial Wellness with Tai

On this episode of Financially Naked: Stories from The Financial Gym, our host is Emily Egan, PR Manager. She is joined by Tai Wiggins, Level 2 Trainer and Head of Business Development, to talk about corporate financial wellness, and what The Financial Gym offers.

Podcast Notes

  • Business development means different things at different companies. At The Financial Gym, business development means forging relationships with organizations so they can be offered as a wellness benefit.

  • Tai works with Human Resources departments to have The Financial Gym be a benefit to their employees. This includes presentations, webinars, and one-on-one consultations.

  • The last couple of months, Tai has been going to companies to teach their employees about financial fitness.

  • Tai loves working with The Financial Gym clients and working with the broader community.

  • The most popular presentations Tai does are Budgeting Bootcamp, Are You Financially Fit, and Investing 101. It is not your parents’ financial presentation.

  • The type of questions Tai gets are based on the culture of the company. Sometimes they will ask questions throughout the presentation, other times they wait to ask her at the end.

  • Her goal is to empower and educate the people of these companies, as well as remove the taboo and stigma that people have around money. One presentation may not do that, but seeing someone present in jeans and a tee-shirt in a relatable and approachable way may help them overcome any limiting beliefs, blocks, guilt, or shame.

  • This is also great for companies who want to educate their employees about 401(k)s. The Financial Gym often works in tandem with 401(k) providers.

  • Tai has been to conferences in the past few months for HR professionals, to promote The Gym’s services.

  • If you are an HR wellness professional, and you don’t know where to start, figure out your current employee demographic and what the need is. Tai can then come up with something that is a fit for you. Tai has a very consultative approach and she wants to add value to your population.

  • The Financial Gym is constantly growing and is very flexible and wants to help you remain competitive and attract and retain your employees.
