Podcast Notes
Human Design is an elusive thing; not necessarily a personality test, but more of your navigational tool. It pulls from other systems and traditions like astrology, Kabbalah, and chakras.
You can pull your Human Design chart from different websites and apps. You will need to know your birthday, including the time and place of birth.
When you first pull your chart, there's quite a bit going on. The main feature is the body chart, with nine different body centers. Various parts of it will be highlighted, meaning they're defined. This is how you can find your energy type. If you've heard of Human Design in passing, it's usually about energy types. It's a great place to start if you're new to Human Design.
Depending on your school of thought, there are four or five energy types.
Generators:
70% of the population
When Generators find what they love to do, they have endless energy. They’re great worker bees.
They often listen to their gut.
Manifesting Generators:
A newer energy type. A mix of Generator and Manifestor energy types. They are in action like Generators but can take the initiative seen in traditional Manifestors.
They struggle with wanting to cut and run while waiting for their gut feelings to guide them.
Projectors:
Those who naturally guide others. They create new systems and know how to read other people well.
They have inconsistent energy and can be impatient.
Manifestors:
The people who lead movements and break ceilings, though not always intentionally. These people don't wait around for folks to collaborate with; they just go for it.
They are very selective about who is around them and shut out folks who aren't the right fit.
Reflectors:
Less than 1% of the population are reflectors, making it the rarest type.
They are the mirrors of society.
They need to have their own defined energy.
Once you know your type, you can use it to create a strategy and experiment.
Sara is a projector. She tends to wait for the invitation. To be her best self, she needs to rest and delegate. Her strength is directing Generators and harnessing their energy. She's naturally good at figuring out how to get things done.
Joy can feel other people's emotions and get ramped up depending on who is around. It's tempting for her to say yes to everything, and she needs to pause and ask, 'Do I actually have the energy and space for this right now?' When she is doing something she loves, Joy has endless energy.
There are a lot of frustrated Generators out there, using their energy in the wrong places. This is because Generators do best if they're doing what they love.
Your profile: another piece of your personality, sometimes called the lines.
We all have two numbers in our profiles, conscious and unconscious.
Joy has read for several Trainers at The Gym, and they all have fives in their profiles.
Joy gives Sara a Human Design chart reading.
