Sara Belhouari

Financial Trainer

she/her

Brooklyn, NY

After a series of financial mistakes in her late teens and early 20's, Sara began her personal finance journey to take back her own power and to have the freedom and flexibility to pursue her goals. Because of financial literacy, Sara paid off over $15,000 worth of credit card debt, saved a fully funded emergency fund, started investing, and doubled her salary in only 2 years. She became a Financial Trainer to help others find clarity and confidence with their financial situation, so they can go deeper than the money to accomplish whatever they want in life.

What is the best financial advice you were ever given?

You won’t save your way to wealth.

What are you working for?

A bigger apartment in Brooklyn, travel, and my dog Ruthie!

What’s your best and worst financial decision?

Best financial decision was opening a Roth IRA and investing at 24. Worst financial decision was buying a brand new car and then moving to New York 3 months later, and not needing a car.

What’s your favorite financial tip?

Put everything on a travel rewards credit card, track your spending, and pay the statement balance in full monthly to earn hundreds of dollars worth of rewards points to travel for free! Because of rewards points, I haven’t paid full price for a domestic flight since 2016!
