Financial Trainer

Queens, NY

Gina was a client of the Gym back in 2018 and was working as a personal trainer for many years. That helped her realize how much she enjoys helping people reach their goals. Her passion for personal finance came along when she was living on her own and juggling student loans and bills. When none of her friends had any idea how to handle their finances, she took it upon herself to become more mindful about spending and always having a plan for her money.

What is the best financial advice you were ever given?

My mom is always looking for a good deal, which sparked my love for thrifting and buying second hand. It’s saved me so much and I have some unique pieces I probably wouldn’t have afforded if purchased new!
What are you working for?

To give my dog the backyard she deserves.

What’s your best and worst financial decision?

Best decision was getting my MBA for free by working at the college I received my degree at.

My worst decision was applying for the Victoria’s Secret credit card while working there. That was the first time I learned what it meant to “max out” a credit card.

What’s your favorite financial tip?

Give yourself 48 hours to make a purchase (impulse or not). If you don’t think about that purchase 2 days later, you really don’t need it!
