Financial Trainer

she/her

New York, NY

Tina became interested in personal finance after an old job required her to make calls to people to review their personal finances - she had no idea what she was talking about. She decided she needed to get savvy, including with her own money. After discovering the FI/RE movement and perhaps getting slightly too obsessed with it, she has never looked back. She is passionate about helping people get out of debt and starting to save in order to live the life they want. Tina wants to empower you to develop your own financial literacy skills with the hope that one day, you feel confident and in charge of managing your own money.

What is the best financial advice you were ever given?
Look at every expense you pay for or purchase you make - is there a way to pay less for the exact same thing or something similar?

What are you working for?

Financial independence and free time, spending more time with family and friends, traveling the world, living a purposeful, fulfilling, and sustainable lifestyle, and minimizing my carbon footprint.

What’s your best and worst financial decision?

Best - taking a 7 month sabbatical

Worst - retail therapy for boredom and unhappiness

What’s your favorite financial tip?

Keep your monthly bills/expenses well below your income. If you can, you will be in an ideal position to handle unexpected, but inevitable expenses (the not so fun stuff) and to take advantage of golden opportunities (the fun stuff).
