What are the Qualities of a Good Accountability Partner?

  • Accountability can come in many forms, you can have a Trainer at The Gym, a therapist, a coach, or a friend you check in with intentionally.

  • A good accountability partner shows up without judgment. You want them to know you and hold space for when those feelings of shame arise.

  • You want someone who will celebrate both the small and big wins with you. Celebrating progress is a huge motivator in accomplishing larger goals.

  • They will encourage you to set and accomplish big goals. Sometimes, we know what we want to do, and have the resources, but need someone else to encourage us to take the final steps.

  • They should be an open listener and help you problem-solve by asking good questions and leading you to a solution that feels good.

  • A good accountability partner will schedule regular check-ins. The key here is consistency rather than frequency.

  • Everyone has their own experience and a good partner is someone who can bring those to the table and help you expand your resource library and horizons.

How can a Certified Financial Trainer help?

  • Money is one of the most taboo topics, and when you’re struggling, it can be hard to know where to turn for help. A Certified Financial Trainer is always there for you to answer your questions.

  • Money is emotional. A Trainer is an outside party who can look at the numbers with clear eyes and create an impartial plan.

  • Society often influences what we think our goals should be. Working with a Trainer can help you figure out what your goals actually are.

  • They will help you problem-solve and figure out which options are the best for you and your family.

  • Your Financial Trainer records your progress over time, so you have a history of your goals and financial life. These records can help you reflect and are a powerful accountability tool.
